Natural Farming plus Traditional Cow Rearing Boon for Uttarakhand

 प्राकृतिक खेती किसानों के लिए क्यों जरूरी है?








Zero Budget Natural Farming is a promising tool to minimize the dependence of farmers on purchased inputs, and reduces the cost of agriculture by relying on traditional field based technologies which lead to improved soil health. Desi cow, its dung and urine play an important role from which various inputs are made on the farm and provide necessary nutrients to soil. Other traditional practices such mulching the soil with biomass or keeping the soil covered with green cover round the year, even in the very low water availability situations, ensure sustained productivity even from the first year of adoption.





Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed farmers at the National Conclave on Natural Farming through a video conference. He stressed this is the right time to take big steps before the problems related to agriculture become even worse. “We have to take our agriculture out of the lab of chemistry and connect it to the lab of nature. When I talk about nature's laboratory, it is completely science-based”, the Prime Minister added.



Alex Carpenter & Cristina Silva Toledo came to India in 2015 with a budding dream of living a life close to nature & also help conserving and restoring forests & wildlife habitats.


After meeting people resonating with the same dream in Goa, the couple along with a few friends soon went on to lease out an abandoned cashew plantation in Agonda with the intention of living off-the-grid in the most eco-friendly manner possible. The result was ‘The Tribe Goa’, an off-grid eco-village that catered to tourists that wanted to experience the bliss of living in nature and also focused on community living based on sharing, restoring natural habitats & reforesting degraded areas in and around their property. From working with the Forest Department & rescuing wildlife to restoring forests & ecosystems these guys have a truly inspiring story to tell!
